Care
Vacuum approximately once a week on a low-suction setting.
Use a gentle vacuum head and avoid vigorous brushing, scrubbing, or repeated passes over the same area.
Never beat or strike the rug to remove dust.
For deeper dust removal, gently shake the rug when practical or occasionally vacuum the reverse side.
Attend to spills immediately by blotting with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread the stain or disturb the fibres.
Do not use bleach, harsh detergents, or strong household cleaning products.
Avoid saturating the rug with water and do not allow it to remain damp for extended periods.
Rotate the rug periodically to help distribute foot traffic, wear, and natural colour changes evenly.
Minimise prolonged exposure to strong, direct sunlight to help preserve the rug’s colours.
For thorough cleaning or difficult stains, we recommend using a professional rug-cleaning service experienced with handmade rugs.
Sfumato was Leonardo's method of letting one tone pass into another without a line anywhere — smoke, in his own description of it.
Hand knotted in wool and viscose, a blend that holds gradation across the pile rather than breaking it into steps.
At 5 x 8 ft it sits well in a bedroom or a study where its transitions can be read up close.
Made by hand in Bhadohi, India.
