Care
• Vacuum regularly on low suction, without a beater bar or rotating brush.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.
• For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional rug cleaning only.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to minimise fading.
• Keep away from excessive moisture and damp areas.
• Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.
• Some shedding is natural with handmade rugs and will reduce over time.
• Do not pull loose fibres; carefully trim them with scissors if required.
Mauveine is named after the first synthetic dye, discovered by accident in a London laboratory and famous for the strange purple nobody had been able to fix before.
The carpet keeps that story in the details rather than the whole: a sand-coloured ground, charcoal medallions set in a run of ogees, and lilac tracery threading between them.
Blush pink lines the frames, teal leaves fill the medallions, and small mustard flowers sit at the centres — a lot of colours, held together by how muted each one is.
The ground is unevenly dyed on purpose, streaked lighter along its length, which is what stops a pattern this dense from feeling printed.
Hand tufted in 100% wool with a low loop pile, it has a close, matte surface that suits the chalky palette.
It is the most decorative piece in the collection and does well in a room with plain upholstery — let the carpet carry the pattern and keep everything above it quiet.
Made in India, hand tufted and hand finished, one piece at a time.
