Construction
Hand-tufted
Tufted by hand on a vertical loom.
Material
New Zealand Wool
Origin
Bhadohi, India
Care
Vacuum about once a week on a low-suction setting.
Avoid vacuum heads with rotating or beater brushes, as they may disturb the pile.
Do not strike or beat the rug to remove dust.
In case of spills, blot gently and promptly with a clean, dry cloth.
Avoid rubbing or scrubbing stains, which can affect the rug’s surface and fibres.
Hand-tufted rugs should not be washed, soaked, or shampooed.
Protect the rug from excessive moisture and avoid placing it on damp surfaces.
If a loose thread appears, trim it carefully with scissors rather than pulling it.
Turn the rug periodically to encourage more uniform wear.
For deeper cleaning or stubborn stains, use a professional rug-cleaning service.
Kalamkari sets large scalloped medallions in rows, each one filled with scrolling leaves and tendrils like a block-printed textile.
The medallions are a deep rust orange picked out in cream, on a heathered grey ground, and the carpet is finished with a knotted fringe at both ends.
Hand tufted in New Zealand wool, the medallions are raised slightly above the ground so the pattern can be felt as well as seen.
A warm, decorative carpet for a living room or bedroom, good with carved wood, brass and block-printed fabrics.
Made in India by hand.
