Care
• Vacuum regularly on low suction, without a beater bar or rotating brush.
• Blot spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Do not rub.
• For deeper cleaning, we recommend professional rug cleaning only.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to minimise fading.
• Keep away from excessive moisture and damp areas.
• Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even wear.
• Some shedding is natural with handmade rugs and will reduce over time.
• Do not pull loose fibres; carefully trim them with scissors if required.
Ember is the loudest piece in Poetry in Wash and makes no apology for it: saffron, rust and a deep teal centre, lit like coals still going in a grate.
A teal medallion sits at the heart of the carpet, ringed by a rust field and then a broad band of marigold, each colour bleeding slightly into the next rather than stopping at a hard line.
Fine ivory vine work runs through all of it, and pink and black florets appear in the border where you would expect only pattern — small surprises that reward standing close.
The drawing is classical, the palette is not, and the washed, uneven grounds are what let colours this strong sit together without shouting.
It is hand tufted in 100% wool at a low loop pile, dense enough to take the traffic of a hallway or a dining room and hold its colour.
Give it space and a plain backdrop — white or off-white walls, minimal furniture — and let it be the only pattern in the room.
