Vacuum approximately once a week on a low-suction setting.
Use a gentle vacuum head and avoid vigorous brushing, scrubbing, or repeated passes over the same area.
Never beat or strike the rug to remove dust.
For deeper dust removal, gently shake the rug when practical or occasionally vacuum the reverse side.
Attend to spills immediately by blotting with a clean, dry, absorbent cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this may spread the stain or disturb the fibres.
Do not use bleach, harsh detergents, or strong household cleaning products.
Avoid saturating the rug with water and do not allow it to remain damp for extended periods.
Rotate the rug periodically to help distribute foot traffic, wear, and natural colour changes evenly.
Minimise prolonged exposure to strong, direct sunlight to help preserve the rug’s colours.

Suzani are the great embroidered textiles of Central Asia, stitched by the women of a household over years and given as dowry.
This one is hand knotted rather than stitched, in viscose, which lends the lustre those embroideries had in silk floss.
